Apples, Often Dubbed Nature's Toothbrush

Food for thought
Food for thought - making wise food choices that support your dental health is important.

Here are some examples to include into your diet.

Apples are rich in fiber and have a high water content, which helps stimulate your gums and promote saliva flow to lower the risk of cavities.

Pears are another good choice, offering extra hydration and fiber to balance acidity and help cleanse your mouth.

Drink plenty of water (which is always recommended for your overall health) - this rinses away food debris and bacteria but also plays a key role in saliva production, which guards against tooth decay.

Vegetables such as spinach, kale and broccoli are abundant in calcium, folic acid, and vital vitamins that boost overall oral health.

Techniques on Brushing

Please note that brushing your teeth too hard can damage the enamel and cause harm to the health of your teeth in the long term. Also it can potentially cause your gums to recede and your teeth to loosen. The rule is - brush twice a day, two/three minutes at a time, not too hard, yet firm enough to remove the plaque and tartar.
